950g is too heavy. Under 400g is more like it.

I recommend the one you have got! Stuff the weight.

I agree with Citizen142. That 2 hours is way more than enough time
for even an amateur thief to have your bike away.

Yeah I might just keep it. I was just a bit miffed that it added
nearly 10% to the weight of the bike.

Also it has trouble not getting in the way.

See that picture. If the lock wriggles a bit in transit, the pedals
end up clipping it.

or does it have a Sold Secure rating, or have you serously tried to
break one yourself? Locks can be big and heavy but not neccessarily
well put together. Not that I know of anything wrong with it.

break one yourself? Locks can be big and heavy but not neccessarily
well put together. Not that I know of anything wrong with it.

Cable locks in general are pretty poor and the armoured ones are even
worse, the armoured part enables the cable to be severed without even
using tools. They look good though.
Hardened steel chains where found to be best, and this was considered
to be the best of the bunch:

STRING.

It would seem to be the ideal solution for your current problems. A
sturdy piece of rope, whilst weighing in at around 1/10 of what you
are currently using, would also probably significantly increase
security ;-)

So put it the other way round and stick a toe strap around it to hold it
in place more firmly.
