Forestry commission land, & checking their website says it
is closed for improvement work. It also says it should re-
open in summer 2003. So has the web-site just not been
updated, or is work still on-going? I did try to phone
them, but I didn't get answer as I had missed office
hours. I hope to walk this route early tomorrow.
Last summer I walked the route through Coilessan Glen, up to
the bealach and then onto Cnoc Coinnich. There were no signs
to suggest the route was closed then.
The path is part of the Cowal Way route which goes from
Ardgartan to Portavadie. When that was opened last year
there was no suggestion of any problem in that section, so I
can't imagine it could still be closed.
In any case, even if it is "officially" closed, the chances
of anyone happening to be working on it tomorrow would be
rather slim, so I can't imagine you having any problem,
apart from the muddy slog through the trees from
Lochgoilhead, Maybe that's what's been improved now though.
Have a good day.
