magazine fame), who took these shots after our first real snow of the
season.

I rode last night and this a.m. in 15 to 18f, and it was great. Really
makes you serious about toe and finger warmth, too...

What's the traction like in the snow?
Complex question, depending on how deep, how wet, how steep, etc. But well
worth a shot. Especially at night when everything's so quiet. But a
general rule of thumb is to run the fattest tires you have, at the lowest
pressures you can, and keep as even a rhythm as you can, like you would in
sand. Run flat pedals, and lower your seat. Beware of sliding out to the
sides, which I've done. I don't have studded tires, but folks that do
really love em.
