I just bought some Gaspar's Linguica from the local ethnic grocery and
was wondering how to prepare it/what to make with it, etc. Can someone
give me some tips? I'd like to involve the BBQ if possible. Anyone
have any serving suggestions?
Thanks!

Let me guess..... you work for Gaspars and are plugging your product with
this spam.
Ummmm. No.
I was looking through all the sausages and picked up this one and a
random guy told me it was great. I'm always up for trying new things
so I bought it. He mentioned that he liked the linguica that was "hang
smoked" rather than this one, which he said used liquid smoke. Anyway,
so no.... I don't work for Gaspars, just looking for some ideas.

Gaspar's is good stuff! I like it grilled and served with eggs for
breakfast.

Gaspar's makes really good Portuguese style chourico (the non-greasy stuff),
too. And I don't work for them. It's a bit pricey, though, through
mail-order. I settle for other brands available locally.

I only use it three ways... on pizza, scrambled in eggs and in tacos.
Here's a link to the web site - they have some recipes for you.

By "the BBQ" I guess you mean a grill. Cut the linguica in half
lengthwise and grill it over medium heat. Toss fresh asparagus in
garlic and olive oil and grill it, too. If you want a starch, potato
salad or roasted potato wedges or warmed baguettes would be good. Beer
would be good with this. -aem

You didn't make your entrance to the group with a question about a particular
company's product.

I have a sausage king a mile and a half down the road.

You might have a valid point IF they had posted a link to a site where
you could buy it. Or said something like "I found this great site where
you can buy this great sausage - Gaspar's Linguica. Check it out at
somewebsiteaddress". But since they didn't I think your off a bit. It's
not they are twisting your arm and forcing you to buy it the next time
you go to the store. Take a chill pill or a shot or two of what you have
available and relax. All they did was ask for a recipe or someway to
prepare it.

Someone else already mentioned using it as a change from pepperoni on
pizza and in breakfast scrambles which I do as well.
I also use linguica in soups and stews. You could grill the linguica
first before adding it to the soup or stew adding a smokey flavor.
You could also throw it into a saute of cabbage, cannelini beans, and
assorted vegetables.

This might be considered sacriledge by some but I have made Jambalaya
with it. You could also try it in this:
1 - 1 1/2 lbs sausage
3 medium or 2 large potatoes cubed or cut in thin (1/4 inch) slices.
2 or 3 green peppers depending on size (red/yellow/orange peppers can be
substituted as desired for color) chopped.
1 large or two medium onions chopped
2 or 3 sliced mushrooms if desired
season with oregano and italian seasoning as desired
brown the sausage
add the onion and green pepper and cook until the onion is clear
add the mushrooms and potato and cook until the potato is tender
I cook it on medium or medium-high and it takes about a 1/2 hour to cook.
