I have never had that. But I see on google that it is in fact real:

Years ago I used to be able to buy a cheese like that. It was just labeled
'Havarti'. It was,as you say, Limburger lite. Now the only Havartis I can
find are nearly tasteless. I can also buy Tilsit but it just isn't the
same.
