Write to Lidl. AIUI they do try to discourage bulk buying like that.

I have complained to Lidl before, that the stores allow one person to bulk
buy. There policy 'so I am informed' is to restrict this practice, and the
head office told me the managers know this. So it is worth complaining and
making a fuss, with a view to wiping out the problem.

'Tis worth making a fuss in the store if you see someone doing this. I've
seen Lidl & Aldi staff refuse to sell loads of same item to a purchaser.

My local Lidl had two of their wooden bikes, so I managed to get one for my
grandniece. Phew!

DW tried 5 Lidls without success. Our local one apparently started with
7, which were all gone by the time DW got there 2 hours after opening.

DW would have bought 4 if she had been able (one for my niece, one for
my nephew, one for her nephew and one for a friend who wanted one for
his nephew). I told her it was unlikely that they'd let her buy more
than 2, so I'm appalled to read that at least two stores didn't impose
any restrictions.

If I was near one of the relevant stores, believe me, I'd be in there
talking to the manager in a nice clear, loud voice (so that as many
people as possible could hear) about what I thought about the
situation, or better still, get my wife to do it. She has the amazing
ability to complain in a very firm but polite way and regularly gets
wonderful service and/or compensation as a result. Unfortunately I'm in
Australia and various family members were trying to buy the bike on my
behalf and I don't think it's fair to land them with following up.

We're fairly used to Lidl loss leaders that often never reach certain
stores or disappear rapidly, so we weren't totally surprised; [censored] maybe, but not surprised.

I'm sure that the Lidl on Dalry Road participate in allowing friends to bulk
buy the cheap items - either that or they're clinically dumb. I live across
from the store, and the same vans/people appear every Monday and Thursday
and get loaded. I can never get to the restricted items and it's a two
minute stroll to the shop.

It's also a bugger.
