Lightweight tent pegs?

I'm suprised - I've found the Argos pegs to be quite strong and well made,
at least as good as the ones supplied with my TNF Tadpole. Bending aluminium
and its alloys usually work-hardens the material. If you straighten the
pegs, they will be tougher where they were bent than before.

They may be tougher, but my eperience is onece they've been bent they
won't go in anything like as well as before...

Well three of mine are bent to buggery. They straightened out, sort
of. They now have an appealing kink.

I'm not au fait with current peg fashions but find my Akto pegs to be
easier to get into the ground and more stable once they are in. And,
at only an extra £225, a definite bargain.

It is possible to bend them - I bend 6 of them last august when I camped up
at Loch Lednock reservoir.

The reason for the kink is that the material work-hardens at the initial
bend, and when you try to straighten it, the material preferentialy bends in
another, softer, place. Straighten them with a mallet on a flat surface.

I got some for mine from Blacks (fiver for ten pegs) and they look
pretty damn close to the originals.
