Greetings fellow cyclists,
Im curious to hear your thoughts on lightweight carbon wheelsets for climbing. Im currently in the recovery phase after a knee reconstruction surgery and have taken up cycling as part of my rehabilitation. As Im building up my strength and endurance, Ive been considering upgrading my wheelset to something that can make climbing a bit easier.
Ive been doing some research and have found a few options in the market, but Im having a hard time deciding which one would be the best for me. Im looking for something that is not only lightweight but also stiff and durable, as I plan on using it not just for climbing but also for general use.
Ive heard some good things about carbon wheelsets, particularly how they can significantly reduce the weight of your bike and make climbing a breeze. However, Im also aware of the potential drawbacks, such as the higher cost and the risk of damage in the event of a crash.
My question to you all is, what are your recommendations for lightweight carbon wheelsets for climbing? Do you have any personal experiences or recommendations for specific brands or models? And, what do you think are the most important factors to consider when choosing a carbon wheelset for climbing?
Im looking for something that can provide the best balance between weight, stiffness, durability, and cost, without sacrificing performance. Im also interested in hearing about any new or upcoming products that you think are worth keeping an eye on.
I know that carbon wheelsets can be a bit of a controversial topic, so Id love to hear your thoughts on the pros and cons of using them for climbing. Do you think theyre worth the investment, or are there other options that are just as good, if not better?
Thanks in advance for your input, and I look forward to hearing your recommendations!
Best regards,
Bkatelis.
