You are lucky to get one so long after it first appeared in the baskets. I got to my local Lidl 48 hours after the bike specific stuff apeared and had to settle for a pum and two pairs of socks. There were a couple of head torches left and a couple of toolkits all the rest of the gear was gone.

I have wondered about the accuracy of the pressure gauge but have no means of testing it.
I have no quibble with the price and have paid considerably more for my cheapest hand pump.

It features a metal barrel and a pressure gauge. It's too big to take with me so I am planning to leave it next to my bike for early morning pressure checks and return-to-base maintenance sessions. The action is really smooth and powerful compared to my other cheap pumps. I actually had to be careful as taking the tire from 40 to 50 psi was a matter of only a few pumps.

I'm impressed with mine, too. Leisure Lakes has one that's identical apart from the brand for £29.99. Try EBay for the same pump - they're going for more than £10 + P&P now.

Nothing wrong with the pump. Not the most durable, but for £2.99, I don't expect it to last for 20 years :-) They are a decent, basic tack pump, and have made light work of getting many a tyre on an Unfit Family bike up to pressure. Especially Nathan's tyres for racing, which have to be at a pressure of considerably more than 40 - 50 psi!
It's amazing isn't it? I see one or two cyclists when out and about - but not that many at all, and yet when Lidl do their cycling thing - the stuff's all gone by midday on the first day. Can this phenonmenon simply be down to the E-Bay peddlars rather than the *real* peddlers?
Yes I think it is. Lidl, Aldi, Tchibo obviously have a concept of a community of users having common interests in outdoor pursuits - walking, riding, cycling. And garden furniture. I often promote the specials to two cycling groups I am a member of - both to make exisiting members aware, and hopefully to encourage some new people. When all the stuff is hoovered up by chancers selling the stuff on it defeats the purpose. Lidl etc. should set limits on the amount if items you can buy.

Certainly the Lidl in Dereham does, as does the one in King's Lynn, where I've seen a guy who piled his trolly to overflowing with cycling kit be told in no uncertain terms that he would not be allowed to purchase it all, but would be limited as to the number of items he could have.
