Thought about the lock set but reckoned it would not sell terribly
quickly so can go back later.

I've just got back having bought a pair of winter longs for the offspring to
use on his winter college commutes. At my local Lidl, there were no cycling
longs out, so I asked one of the girls if they'd come in late. She just did
her best "computer says no" impersonation. So I asked the manager and he
went looking out in the storage area of the shop and he found a whole box of
longs that had not been put out on display. So if you don't see in the shop
what is advertised in the specials gumpf - it's worth being a pain and
asking them to check in the storage area.

Forgot about the heart rate thingy, didn't have them anyway, which would
have made up for my ACT bike computer dying in the rain yesterday.

I got there at 8 for opening, picked up the first of 6 tool kits. The
other 5 were gone within the next 60 seconds. Other stuff wasn't going
as quickly.

The £3.99 Krypton light set is not fit for purpose, is not a bargain at any price,
and is going back for a refund tomorrow. The trousers are good though.

Got to my local Lidl at 9 this morning before the ebayers. For the first
time ever, they actually had everything that was advertised! Fitted the
cycling computer after lunch and have been giving it a try on a hilly route.
All works, but the speedo bit still registers speed even when stopped,
(about 17kph), so mileage and average speed are a bit of a guesstimate. I
don't know if it was RF interference or strong sunlight (the speed sensor is
supposedly IR). Mind you, I'm not going to worry about it given the price
and that I recently lost the one I got from Aldi 2 years ago!

I got one, noticed the same (it was the HRM too close). It's fine with the
HRM at normal distance, but crouching close to the bars did cause
malfunction.

Instructions for the speed probe say place on right fork, but the pics show
left fork. Mine works fine on left fork.

I managed to get the black, long-sleeved, Coolmax shirt. I'm very impressed
with it for the price. Much better quality than I expected. The stitching,
especially, is better than anything I've had from Altura.

I also picked up the tool kit which looks like a real bargain. I needed a
chain-whip, headset and pedal spanner anyway, which would have cost at
least a fiver each bought separately. However, the cone spanners look very
flimsy and I can't say I'd bother with the adjustable but the rest of it
looks decent enough considering the price.

Can anyone tell me what is supposed to attach over the - what looks like a
hex nut spinner of some sort - end of the "L handle"? And why do you get a
couple of pieces of rubber tube in the p*nct*re kit?

paper label inside said 52R, sewn in label said 50R.

Bah, and double Bah cos they seemed quite nice though for the short in
body.

I just had a quick 5 miler to test the longs trooz and the long sleeve
jersey. The longs are great, nice and snug, well padded on the knee, a
little too warm at the moment but when things get colder they'll be spot
on. I like the orange flashes on the back of the calf, nice touch. Not a
lot of "area" padding but what there is, is well positioned to prevent,
ahem, load shifting. I might have to send my SO back to get another pair!

Jersey is OK, the smallest size is still a bit loose on me - room for a
thermal underneath though. I was a bit disappointed by the drab styling,
but for £6 I shouldn't really moan.

Just finished locking up the bike as the store was unlocked at 9. Quite a
crowd waiting to get in, but only one other cyclist, looked like the horde
was there for trainers.
Got myself a cape in white, red and navy as being the most eyecatching
combination. There were also light grey and khaki which seemed very dull,
plain navy with reflective strips and navy with a white stripe.
Saw cycling jerseys and jackets but size range didn't go large enough for
me, unlike Aldi's offerings. There were loads of lock sets but not very
many of anything else.

The front light switch is flimsy and broke after 3 operations; yours will
probably last a few weeks. The batteries are not securely located and I expect
they would shake loose pretty quickly. I'll get a refund rather than swapping it
for another of the same.

I couldn't work out the sizing from the packaging other than R probably
stands for regular so I just bought the one with the largest number on
it (also 52), but where does 52 come from as a measurement? It did also
say 42 on it, which is a more plausible measurement in inches, but 52
makes no sense to me.

They did look pretty [censored] - I was going to get a set but didn't bother

Probably for Woods (Dunlop) very old style valve core; used to (probably
still do on Chinese bikes) have them on the kind of bike my Dad rode.

Since you sad that I've been switching it on and off with no problems, but the plastic
does seem the brittle type. Hopefully the lights will last the winter.

They are going on my son's paper-round bike as a back up set - assuming I see him
again.

(he set off to Heathrow on Saturday for a mountain trip to Switzerland with his scout
group, and last I heard they were on the concourse building a plane out of balsa,
runbber bands and washing up liquid bottles.)
