Thanks for that helpful reply, It is actually from my POV related to the TdF which was only available on digital tv apart from a weekly itv1 slot, I don't want to get caught out next year. There was quite a lot about TV coverage on this NG a few weeks ago, and it would also be nice to see some of the other races that are only available on satellite.

That's related to cycling ... now. Before it was a start of a thread about
satellite boxes.

A two second search for "astra" on Google led me to their page, where they
helpfully list their channels.

Thank you, will have a trawl, I'm afraid I know nothing about non-terrestrial tv and the Lidl dish looks like a cheap way of trying it out. Does anyone else use this type of set-up?

The TdF was also available on *analogue* satellite via Eurosport, but
Eurosport won't be on analogue for ever.

Sorry I don't know more about digital channels. Thanks for mentioning the
Lidl receiver--might be interested in one myself. Also bound to be some
on eBay. By the way, the reciever should work with any bog standard dish
with a "Universal" LNB (and more sophisticated equipment as well).

doesn't look like it picks up ITV2 unless you have a Sky package so a non-starter, plus of course there is the problem up getting SMWBO's permission to stick that enormous dish on the side of the house ;-(

until they decide to get freeview (and even Channel 5!) in my area.

From what I read in the Shed, there is NO CABLE with this dish.

(I don't have a TV and know hooter-all about them)

All bits sold seperately. £15 for the dish, £15 for the receiver, £3
for the LNB, £3 for the mount, £3 for the signal checker and get the
cable somewhere else, AIUI.
