  1. Anyone know what counts as the "North East" to Lidl? Quite fancy a set of
    their cheapo panniers.

The panniers are *basic* and not waterproof. But, they stood the Unfit Family
in good stead as we used a set of these on Nathan's bike when we cycled in
France recently. Steady as a rock on the rear rack. I used thick blue plastic
"rubble sacks" from Morrisons as cheap alternatives to rucksack liners. I
loaded all of our stuff inside these and had these in the panniers. Worked a
treat. Cycled through several deluges and all the stuff packed remained dry.

My logic was that if we enjoy cycle touring and want to do it more often, then
we can invest in some *serious* panniers costing *serious* dosh as and when,
but if it turned out we didn't like cycle touring, then we hadn't wasted vast
sums of money on expensive panniers which wouldn't get used again.

    Cheers, helen s

Not sure if it still exists but there is now a real Clapham Omnibus; may
have been changed to BendyArrivaConnectolink or something like that.
