What's with this maddening yo-yo he does. He drifts to the back, and
then rushes back to the front, and it looks like his team has to remind him
to keep spinning at times. Every day he remains in yellow, Lance looks
smaller.

I won't make it personal but you have to take into account how would all of
the guys on the Sunday group rides feel after 10 or 15 stages? See how well
they would stack up against Voeckler then? Ouchie!!

Prior to the first SFGP a few belgians came down and did a Saturday ride
with the morning group. Spanked them hard then took off for the
remainder of THEIR training ride. Probably wouldn't take more than a
day for the local Freds to realize someone like Voeckler isn't just a
puddin.

When I used to ride to Greedly Hill, sometimes I ran into this cat-1 local
who sometimes rode with me on the climbs. We were talking about the Tour
when Djamolidine Abdoujaparov was winning stage sprints. Since we were
climbing the big climbs here in the Sierras I made a comment that
Djamolidine couldn't climb and my cat-1 friend who had raced with a lot of
the best riders in the states at the time said that I bet if you put Abdo
with all the top guys over here that he would out climb everyone of them.

I am going to take this obvious troll, as an opportuniuty to comment
on Mr. Voeckler. What a hero. So far he has made the tour for me. I
love watching this guy ride totally beyound his means. The way his
lungs and legs, cause him to dift back and then his heart just can't
handle losing the jersey....A champion worthy of 9 days and counting
in Yellow. I found myself scream at the screen for him to come in
under 5:04 back.

I have also enjoyed watching the mechanistic percision with which USPS
has completely disesmbled all of the GC contenders....What a
team....When you have six guys left in the leading groupetto and three
of them are on the same team!!!!! Complete and utter dominance. They
look infalable....I know other like heart etc. as do I but as a
scientist at heart I also enjoy the hell out of the cold calculating
manner in which the orginization that is USPS goes out and excutes. I
suggest it will take a few years for everyone else to catch up, but
the USPS model will change cycling forever....

IIRC, the first year Vaughters rode in Europe for a Spanish team, he said
that he couldn't even keep up with Olaf Ludwig on climbs.

The only exciting thing about Saturday's stage was hoping that Voeckler
would keep the yellow. He rode his butt off, getting dropped on every
climb yet coming back each time. US Postal dropped everybody, but
Voeckler kept pounding away.
