Oh geeeeesh, so even the instructions aren't much help. I'd probably have spent hours debating over
which set to follow ... and inevitably choose the wrong one for the first attempt. I will keep it
all in mind though, and pass the information on to sonny boy AFTER he opens his gift.

I was a bit queasy after the first 3 reboots produced error messages and NOTHING helpful. I than
scanned the manual again. As you mentioned in a thread above, the suggestion for problems was
contacting their website "from a computer that would not boot" (I could have logged the laptop). I
then checked the other manual and it gave different directions. Which is one reason that I have
gotten possibly too gutsy and keep the computer open when I reboot these things - the hard drive
propped on a book or clothing hanging from its cable while I make sure that things really work. I
hate opening and closing the case only to find it still does not work right.

I really did close my eyes and cross my fingers when I rebooted after the last set of instructions
were followed. I was relieved and surprised. I was ready to pack the damn thing back in a box and
get a smaller drive that would just hook to the existing cable. That or go the external USB route.

Yes I do "byte" my tongue sometimes. Some customers make that a very difficult task to achieve!

Wow, must be something in those enchiladas ... mine seemed to catch me 2 or 3 days later also (at
least that was when I first stepped on the scale). Back down to what I think is normal today, guess
I haven't been as bad as I thought. And I really did enjoy those enchiladas. <g>

OH NO Lesanne, how horrible for you! I hope everything gets fixed and cleaned up quickly. I can only
imagine how hard it must be to transplant your mom right now ... even if it is temporary.

Oh geesh, you gotta love the technical support solutions. Not everyone has access to more than one
computer - so if the one you are installing a device onto does not work, how the heck are you
supposed to contact the website?

Sonny boy has been forewarned, said he will anticipate having loads of fun when he gets back to
school (that's the computer the new drive will be installed on).
