I toyed briefly with the idea of doing the Oakley Summer Breezer today,
but decided a weekend off was probably best. The National 400 last
weekend was the last planned long one before LEL, and I haven't touched
the bike all weekend. Five shortish commutes to go just to keep the legs
turning over and the bum hard, then the 35k ride to the Lee Valley Youth
Hostel on Friday evening for the pasta party, and to be ready for the
Saturday morning start. Still wondering what to put in the Hovingham bag
drop apart from my sleeping bag and a spare pot of nappy cream.

I see Helen Vecht is on the list of helpers at Lee Valley.

In my bag drop I'll be putting some spare shorts socks and vest.
Probably a spare jersey in too. I actually have two bag derops, not the
same one twice, things I don't use will not be waiting on for me when I
next pass. I have no idea when I'll get my bag returned to me, 'after
the last rider has passed through Dalkieth' so we'll be at the mercy of
the London starters.
