Just had a thought - is their a recognised route for walking the Leeds-Settle-Carlisle railway or will I have to make one up as I go along?
Following on from my walk from Ribblehead to Horton I have decided that I might as well do the rest and walk the whole line (or at least for now the settle-Carlisle bit). Looking at the map I have to hand It looks quite possible to do the walk in day long stages (early train walk and then back on later train) as far as Kirkby Stephen to Skipton goes anyhow!
So, does anybody know of any recognised route for walking the Leeds-Settle-Carlisle line?

Not that I am aware of but should you ever want to do the Leeds to Settle bit the Leeds-Liverpool canal will get you most of the way.

AHA! Theres an idea - BHF doing a sponsored walk from leeds to skipton on 19th sept - am planning to do that walk so would kill two birds with one stone!
