Hi, I am hoping some experienced PT users can help me with a problem I have. My PT LCD display has suddenly started displaying only half of some of the numbers and also the power seems to be only 30 - 50% of what it should be. I have had it just over a year and changed the battery fairly recently. Has anyone else had this issue?

Does it have fresh batteries?
Not sure about the power being off issue, but if it's only displaying half of some numbers then the display is most likely broken. One way this can happen is if you dropped the CPU. It's ridiculously fragile (and expensive to replace).

Have you tried it in test mode as there is a specific test to check that the LCD display is working properly.

I had the same display problem on one of my CPUs recently. Power was OK though. Changed batteries, no change. Called Saris and they suggested upgrade the firmware - no change. Finally, they just replaced it.

Thanks for your responses. I have been for a ride and the power issue seems OK - i.e. readings are correct but I am still missing some parts of some digits. I did the LCD test and the numbers are missing when the test is performed. I have emailed Saris.

It happened to mine after I dropped it. :o
My guess is that it has to come apart to repair it. Since the case is glued together, it is not a user servicable computer. When Saris repairs them, they likely break open the case and install the repaired computer in a new case.
