  1. I'm going through separation/divorce with 2 kids, 15 (male)and 10
(female). I've been lcing to keep up my self-esteem, etc. I read
somewhere (maybe here!) that when all around you is problematic, lcing,
and the discipline it requires, will keep you feeling good about
    yourself.

If others have been through the same thing, words of encouragement
    would be appreciated.

Certainly maintaining your health, weight, and looks will contribute to a
positive outlook and help you stay marketable afterwards (even if you have
no intention of connecting w/ someone else soon or ever - at least you'll
project the notion that such is well possible, and having options is a good
    thing).

Keep up the good work and live well.

I don't know about LCing in particular, but taking good care of yourself
and your health helps in every way.

Besides, wouldn't it be worse to be divorced, parenting teens while fat
    and/or unhealthy?

    Sorry for your tough times.

  4. DAMN RIGHT!!!!
These awful things that life presents us with often become our 'reason"
to go to hell in a handbag, as my dad used to say. How many people have
posted stuff about gaining back lots of weight due to "stress"?

NOTHING is more stressing than a divorce....every emotion gets stirred
up, fear, guilt, lonliness, you name it.

BUT the fact you're not using this stress as your 'reason" to blow
caution to the winds proves you're not only going to lose your
weight....you're clearly strong enough to get this unpleasant time
behind you, too, without self-destructing. And if you can do
that....good grief! What cant you do???

That old saying about making lemonade when life gives you lemons....is
true for you. You've kept your eye on the pie (so to speak!) EVEN in the
    face of extreme adversity.

So....what cant you do? If this cant beat you....what possibly could?

Congratz and let yourself be proud---
Remember....sometimes destruction must occur before Creation. The "old"
must die to make room for the "new". You may be saying 'goodbye" to the
old, fat, married you.....but in making this choice to maintain your LC
WOE, you have created the NEW, thin, single, fabulous you you are
becoming.....and learning how serious the 'stuff" you're made of, is.

Hell....that's the "Hero's Journey", the Quest for the Grail. Hats off,
to you. A year from now, you could be saying, "Oh dear....look what
happened to me....as a result of that horrible situation.....sniff! Im
all fat and broken....." OR, "LOOK AT ME! LOOK WHAT I DID! BEST YEAR OF
    MY LIFE!".

Before we are do-ers, we are decide-ers...and the decision changes
    everything.

  5. I took a class at my church called Divorce Care - you can find it all over
the country. It is a 13 week video - well put together. Talks about
emotions, guilt, financces, children, remarrying and much more. If you
aren't put off by church - that is my suggestion. Go online and search for
"Divorce Care". I went almost 5 years after my divorce - helped me deal
with unresolved issues that I didn't even know were there. Hang in there -
it only gets better - eventually.

  6. thanks to everyone who has replied so far.....hopefully "this too shall
    pass".

  7. Is there one single part of your life that will change for the better if you
give yourself permission to eat whatever you want?
I don't know of anything which would improve in mine.

That said, we all fall off once in a while, but the object is to start every
day off fresh. Start all over.
You don't need to go back on induction if that keeps you from getting back
    on plan.
If you screw up early in the day, don't throw the rest of the day away.
Get back on the horse and do the best for yourself. You deserve it!
