  1. Does anyone know where there is a decent LBS around Aylesbury or
    Buckingham (or even Milton Keynes)?

My mother (aged 55) and my half-brother (aged 15) are looking to invest in
a couple of mid-range bikes and I am keen to ensure that they find a shop
    that will fit them correctly.

    Much appreciated.

I think you'll find that most people will fit into shops. ;-)

Never walked down a US street, have you? 😉

  4. Michael's Cycles in Bedford is pretty good. (OK, not Bucks or MK, but
    no-one else has a suggestion!)

    Cheers, Helen

When I lived in Bletchley I used to go to Phil Corley in MK (Stacy Bushes).

I find it more of an issue in Walsall, to be frank.

Only been to Manhattan & Westchester County in the US though, so it's
    a somewhat unrepresentative sample.

"Hard to Find" is based in Aylesbury. Operated by Francis Thurmer,
it's not exactly an LBS but that need not necessarily deter you.
Francis offers a service where he tailors a bike specifically for you
and then assembles it meticulously. AIUI he gives you the component
parts at trade cost and charges for his labour. His work is absolutely
first rate. Give his international 24 hour hotline a try: 01296 747
377, but only between 13:00 and 16:00 Tuesdays, Thursdays and
    Saturdays.

    I'll also vouch for Francis.
