Since this *IS* a running newsgroup and not a political
one, I am ending my participation in the on-going
political debate.
I all reality I'm fairly moderate. I'm not a idealogue. I
don't listen to talk radio or belong to a political party. I
can say that Republicans and conservatives for the most part
stick to the facts. They don't go off on these crybaby
tirades whenever their candidate or cause loses. They state
their case on move on.
I know a lot of liberal-leaning people and I'd say easily 19
out of 20 are so damn whiny I find myself moving more and
more to the right just to get away from them. All I hear is
"Bush stole the election, he's a moron, has a DUI, blah,
blah blah." Do you people have any idea how positively
STUPID you sound? Luckily for you, there's that 1 out of 20
who can INTELLIGENTLY argue their case and do it without bad-
mouthing, slandering, and out-right lying about the other
side. I still don't agree with them, but I can respect them.
I grew up in the 80's and the one thing I remember is the
non-stop bashing of President Reagan. "He was a cowboy, a
B-grade movie actor, an absolute dunce." The attacks
continued through the Bush (#41) administration and
everyone mysteriously got quiet during the Clinton years. I
don't think it's because Clinton was beyond reproach, but
rather Conservatives have more constructive things to do
than sit around and bad-mouth and lie about their
opponents. What did Conservatives do? They rallied and took
back Congress and have more or less held it ever since.
They've also strengthened themselves at the state level
across the nation.
Perhaps if Democrats and their supporters would stop crying
about everything and start DOING something then maybe
they'll start winning elections again. Mindless idiotic
bashing is only going to assure the Republicans continue
running the country. Get over the fact that your guy LOST in
2000 and your current policies are unpopular.
