Hi,

did you know that there is some correspondence between brain
size and intelligence? I've only got a humble 62cm noggin
though. :-(

I bought a MET Testagrossa from here- ukbikest-ukbikest-Open ↗
ore.co.uk/acatalog/MET_TESTAGROSSA.html It's supposed to
adjust up to 64cm and I can believe it! If you loosen the
adjustment strap and remove the (cosmetic) foam rubber
inserts I reckon it'll fit bigger heads than yours.

Anyway I expect you could return it if it didn't fit so
give it a go.

Well no one replied, so either I have the biggest head in
the world, or 'big-heads' don't wear helmets, or just don't
browse this ng <G>

However in case there are large skulled lurkers here,
or Googling for a similar solution, I found the answer
to my woes.

Giro were very helpful, I contacted them through their web
site and they have a good looking helmet called the Atlas
II, that goes up to 64cm, just unfortunately not available
in the UK, so I couldn't try one, they say that next year
it will be. Whilst hunting the local bike shop Giro
stockists for this helmet, one not too far from me turned
out to be particularly helpful and also stocked helmets
from a company called Lazer (in the USA and Belgium
www.lazer.be.) Their 'Fugitive' helmet is available up to
64cm and they had one in for me to try the very next day
(£45). So, rather than wait for my next trip to the USA to
try the Atlas, I went to try this one, it fits snugly so
I've bought it and so far so good.

I have a sizeable gulliver, but as you'd already tried
Specialized and Giro - and I own helmets made by both
companies - I had no further recommendations...

I didn't see your original post.

But the subject has been discussed here more than once
before. I had a similar problem when I had a motorbike. But
no great trouble with the lightweight/adjustable things for
a low-grade hard hat area (backstage at a theatre) or for
watersports where the main danger to the head is an out-of-
control paddle when someone else is going under.

FYI for UK people the mean head circumference for males
is 57.5 cm, standard deviation 1.68. therefore, if you
are 64 cm, you lie 3.87 SDs out, which is on the 99.995th
%ile of the population 🙂 approximately. Mind you, for
all I know, hatters build in some slack so you might not
be quite so uncommon.

For the US, the corresponding figures are 57.7 cm, 1.71 cm,
3.68 SDs hence very slightly bigger heads 🙂

I and several other people *did* reply. So perhaps you have
your NGs configured incorrectly. In which case you may not
see this either but anyway see here-

Doesn't follow at all. You have implied an additional
assumption (about the statistical distribution of head
sizes). Perhaps you have a basis for that (and the numbers)?
