If this is what he meant by "you", then why only "one" of the best in the world? Anyone who can win
any time trial he wants is #1, by definition.

This is silly. You is generally a weak synonym for "one", not necessarily meaning anyone in the
world. He could simply have meant "a rider of my level", as in losing to a rider of Lance's level
isn't, to him, a loss.
