Lance - To Do Ironman 2006?

Of course he will do the Ironman. After all, he was drawn into
bicycle racing by his success as a triathlete, beginning in his early
teenage years. There'll be other triathlons he will likely try first.
Can you imagine him just sitting around and pretending to be retired at
age 34? After that, look for him to try for the Olympic medal that he's
missed so far, in 2008. A few years ago, he tried racing mountain bikes
for awhile, but had only meager success. That may be a challenge he'll
want to meet again, with more focused attention.

urge to train a bit harder down the road.

I'd look for something along the lines of off-road biking, cameo at
Tour of Georgia, things like that.

active, fit and possibly "do a few Triathlons" after retiring from Pro bike
racing. I heard nothing specific but would not be surprised if after a year
off we do see him at IMH startline. Just my thoughts.

remain fit (by his definition, by my definition LeMond is fit) but I
highly doubt he would do an Ironman. As another data point, consider
that he toyed with the idea of running the NY Marathon last year on a
Letterman appearance. There are lots of rumors; I wouldn't take any of
them too seriously at the moment.
