Lance should do the hour record right now.

Great idea and I'm all for it. However, he would need to train for a good
shot at the hour record. Read Chris Boardman's book. Yes Lance has great
form right now, but he would need to train specifically for this effort.
Good form alone will not cut it.

Tour compared to all the others if all the other teams decided to skip

Lance raced more than Heras and Ullrich, probably about the same as Hamilton
and Basso. Mayo, Hamilton, and Heras aren't going to finish the Tour so he
would have done at least the same against them if he did race more. His
race schedule hasn't been a secret for the last 6 years so the other teams
have only themselves to blame if they were serious about winning the GC.

Yes, but look how Lances team has focused on the Tour. How you seen all of
the Lance chronicles? I was speaking to the idea that if any of the other
teams would spend the time and efforts to painstakingly go through all the
tours details as Postal has. Tour is not the science for other teams as it
is for Postal. That's more my point right there.

Nah, the UCI made a mess of it by allowing then banning Obree's
"crouch" and "superman" positions and then the nonsense of the
"athlete's" (Merckx) record.

If Armstrong could turn up and ride his current TT position then it
might be attractive to him, but even then he wouldn't get close to
Boardman's "ultimate" record (56.375km.)
