  1. I had the TV on in the background Friday or Sat and heard one of the announcers say Lance lost 15lbs
during the time trial. Sounds like a lot and close to 10% of his body weight. Did anyone else hear
this and wouldn't that be extreme for a one hour race? Jim

Hate to say it, but it sounds like [censored] excuses to me. I like Lance, and I hope he wins his 5th
tour this year, but his whining is getting a bit much. You can't drop 10% of your weight in water
and still ride a bike at nearly 30mph in a straight line.

  3. This has already been explained on RBR as due to diminished math skills caused by electrolyte
    imbalance.

  4. It was 10 pounds and he wasn't whining, just stating the facts. "Jim Edwards"

It's always a problem, answering a question. Taken to an extreme, should Beloki just skip over the
    part where his tire rolled?

Don't know how long the brake was rubbing but BTDT to some extent and it sure slows you down, hard
to feel for what it is unless you have a lumpy rim.

Note that in the "weight" interview, Lance was going on an estimate of his weight in the morning,
meaning he was already below his desired racing weight before the warm-up and eating/drinking
errors. IOW he probably didn't lose 10% from the time he woke up, there was a deficit from the
day(s) before. Also evidenced by the dry mouth and fear in the eyes seen on camera in the start
house, he blew his prep for one of the big days. C'est le Tour. --Tom Paterson

  6. His whining is getting a bit much? I haven't heard him whine at all. After today it looks to me like
he was telling the truth. He looked much better today than he has the last 2 stages and seems to be
getting stonger. "Darren S." <[email hidden]> wrote in message

He'd probably be dead if that was true.
