  1. Sometimes, a dumbass like me doesn;t drink enough and bonks on a ride or two, but how can this
happen to Lance with all the coaches and trainers? Mainly,

    1. Ullrich warmed up in a cool room with air conditioning. WHy didn't old Chris Carm. find this for
    Lance or suggest it?

    2. WHy didn;t Lance drink enough before the stage? It was almost 100 degrees he should have been
drinking non stop before the race. Between Lance and Chris someone should have figured out the
    fluid intake requirements.

This is such a newbie mistake, I can;t believe it happened. Lance's and CC's approach to cycling is
so analytical........maybe a little too much. Lastly, I have just about heard enough about power to
    weight ratio BS -

  2. You know he did say he made a mistake with hydration, so that can happen to anyone. Besides the body
is not alway consistant. He may have had a slight infection or type of cold that may not have been
    evident...

    And

    3. He was the last rider on the course. All his teammates rode before him and he didn't get any
feedback about the heat and difficulty of the course?

It is called "falling on the sword" and they want everyone to believe as you are, that Chris screwed
up and the mechanic screwed up with the brakes the other day. The reason they want you to think that
is so that the competition thinks the problem is not with Lance and therefore can't be exploited.

In fact, let me tell you my theory about the 2001 stage to Alp d,Huez. I think that Lance did feel
like [censored] that day, but he did not let on when he began to feel better. IOW, we always hear from
Lance and Chris that Lance is virtually unbreakable. It is not uncommon at all in pro distances to
go through physical problems like Lance described. A lot of times the person suffering will feel
better and have a good result. Petacchi had problems on the stages that he won. Lemond complained
that he felt bad the day he won the World's Road Race title in '89. The difference is that Lance and
Chris spin everything the would lead any competitors to think he has no weaknesses that can be
    exploited.

coaching business continues to thrive the way it has during the last four years. In the
introduction of CC's new book, The Ultimate Ride, The co-author of the book describes a
conversation that he had when CC was his coach. He asked CC, "Did Chris help them become great
athletes, or did their greatness elevate Chris's coaching reputation just by association?" CC
responded by asking if he realized that he had just questioned the validity of his and all coaches
    careers.

I don't claim to have the answer, but I do know that CC has made a lot of money because of his
ties to LA, and the claim that they use a much more scientific approach to cycling.

Chris has "made a lot of money" because he's coached a 4-time TDF winner to 4 TDF wins - as well as
a comeback from cancer. He's earned it, period. As to the 'claim' that they use a more scientific
approach to cycling - if you've read anything on the data they collect, how they use the data to
train, and the sheer $$ that's gone into the practice, I don't think there's any question that their
'claims' are legitimate - they've elevated the sport, and the science of training for it. Jeff

Allegations, all. And besides, even if they did dope him, does Strock carry no responsibility in the
    matter? Jeff

What matter? What dope? You said Chris elevated the sport, and I simply cited Strock as an example
of another cyclist he coached. I didn't know about any doping or anything. [censored], dude....that
    sounds serious.

  9. I guess that my post hit the wrong tone with you. I have spent lots of time reviewing CC's program,
and find no fault. I guess that I should have focused more on the people who look at coaching by CTS
as the magic bullet to success. In my mind there are lots of "band wagon" people being trained by
CTS and I wonder if they will be headed to the next big thing if Lance does not win this tour. I
envision portable air conditioned rooms at the start of every hot TT.
