Looking at the remaining stages it looks like Lance has only one more
chance at winning a stage. That would be the TT. And even then Jan will
have a whole lot more to ride for than Lance (ie. 3rd place).
When was the last time a tour winner won without winning at least one
stage??

The TT might be his best hope, but I certainly think he'd have a good
shot at a stage win here due to the climb at the finish:

Not with a break up the road, which is pretty much certain to happen.

Not with a break up the road, which is pretty much certain to happen.
I don't disagree. All sorts of things could happen, but an uphill
finish would give him the best shot if he had any desire to take it.
I'm fairly certain that no matter what happens we won't see him winning
the sprint on the Champs Elysees.

I think we should award him virtual wins for 1997 and 1998 too. If it
hadn't been for that cancer thing, he would have won then too.
