How on earth are they going to recreate the climbs in the Tour de France
with thousands of fans lining the road - this should be hilarious. Maybe
they'll get a bunch of Cat. 3's to pretend they're Euro-pros.

It's the movies, they're in the make believe business. They can recreate
the Roman Coliseum, the Super Bowl, the sinking of the Titanic, the streets
of Mogadishu etc., etc., etc. and you have to ask? A concept apparently too
advanced for certain primates among us.

It's probably not going to be a movie about racing, more likely a
movie about beating cancer. Not a how-to but a drama that will be
designed to pull at your heart(purse)-strings and it will let you know
that the Lance Armstrong Foundation is still accepting donations.

Personally, I think there's a lot more mileage in 'Bubble Boy' jokes
than 'Brokeback Mountain' jokes. Good lord, that movie was terrible...

Hey ass clown....the racing scenes ain't going to look realistic unless
they use authentic OLN footage. This ain't gonna be a big-budget movie
like Titanic and James Cameron isn't its director.

Either they are going to use real race footage, in which case it will be
gay because it will be like watching a repeat. And if they use extras,
they would have to use experienced racers and pay them SAG wages. That's
not going to happen either.

Besides, we already know the Lance story. We don't need to hear about
it again and again, and again. And to have that Brokeback cruiser
playing Lance is über-gay.

The only people who will see this movie are the same type of people who
wore the yellow Livestrong wristbands to make them feel like they belong
to some cause in life.

Lance's cancer story has been beaten to death. Nobody cares about it
anymore because it has been commercialized too much. It totally lost
its sentimental appeal.

And how are they going to portray all his failed relationships...he went
through 3 women. Name one other movie where the lead female changes 3
times before the end.

This story is something that should have been left to a good documentary
director, not Hollywood.

Most of us Americans can read no better than a gorilla, so all the books
in the world don't matter. While the mass media has covered the story,
they've done it in the typical "let's squeeze it into something a 30
second attention span can grasp" sort of way that they cover everything.

This footage will be shot from a motorcycle.

I read that Frank Marshall the producer/director for the film was there
at the last tour shooting footage. Jake G was there too.

I should have said at the 2005 tour when Lance was riding. So Marshall

If they are including his final tour, then that means they will have to
address the divorce to Kristin. And since everyone knows Lance dumped
Sheryl after that, his relationship with her will be like watching OJ's
relationship with Nicole Brown Simpson.

I don't see how they are going to integrate those break-ups into a
Hollywood storyboard that asks the viewer to have sympathy for the main
character and his personal relationships. Sounds to me like they will
play down those relationships.

Is the movie going to end with Lance going out to clubs and dating
flight attendants?

This movie is a mistake. It's like Rocky breaking up with Adrian, going
out with a celebrity, and then breaking up with her too in the course of
one film. It needs to be told as a documentary, not as a
semi-fictionalized account.

A movie about Steve Prefontaine is way more interesting than a movie
about Lance because Pre was an enigma and nobody could really follow his
life in the pre-Internet era. Whereas with Lance, it was so
commercialized and beaten to death, that everyone's sick of it. There's
nothing left to tell. Too many Subaru commercials. We already know the
guy "beat" cancer and won the Tour.

Nobody will see this movie.

Second, it should have been made years ago after his first Tour victory
while the hype was still on the upswing. Lance is now retired,
divorced, and a Hollywood lamprey. Those are not sympathetic character
traits.

If "beating" cancer were such an interesting storyline, then Ernie
Lechuga would also have a movie deal. So that leaves us with a story
about a guy who won 7 Tours with several teammates who helped him win
who have subsequently been convicted of doping offenses. The movie will
probably hit screens just as Landis loses his CAS appeal.

Lance is jumping the shark with this film, although some argue he
already jumped the shark when he went on Saturday Night Live with
Sheryl. This movie is just another commercial.

Lance may as well bring Lindsey Lohan to the premiere.

Yeah, I kind of agree with you on that. But we're a minority. Millions
of copies of his biographies have sold. Those were WAY longer than your
one sentence synopsis. So lots of people have bought into a much larger
story than you allow for or I care about. Hollywood can only make things
worse. I cannot imagine what kind of [censored] they are likely to pack
around the story as filler. No way would I pay to watch that.

I WOULD pay to see a film of Brian Lafferty tied to a chair and being
forced to watch it, however. That would be entertaining!
