I certainly agree that these are classic examples of egoism and greed, but
I don't think that there is much about them distinctively American. The
rest of the world has plenty of the same type, like Calisto Tanzi and
Conrad Black. Looking at how these and others accomplished their frauds, I
would go so far as to say that rather than being examples of any
particular country's character, they were all international operators who
learned to think of themselves as beyond the reach of any nation's laws.

One way is to do a Google Groups search on the poster's name. Enclose it in
quotes if it's a proper name (e.g., "Bob Smith"😉, to filter out similar
names. Reading through a person's previous posts can give you a sense of
whether or not they're a troll or a whacko.

You can also append "troll" or "whacko" (or, "idiot", etc.) to your Google
Groups query...so, your query might look like this: ["Bob Smith" troll]
(without the brackets). This can reveal the frequency with which others
