i agree whole heartedly with your post. for to have someone who is not a
trained cyclist to make it up l' alpe d'huez is quite a feat in it's own.
being someone who cycles to supplement my marathon running training i do not
know if i would be able to make it up that course any faster than sheryl
has. i just wonder why people seem to despise her so much.

I was channel surfing and came across a piece on VH1 about
her fitness. They didn't show her working out too much, but
she said she rock climbs, surfs, runs and rides horses. But
her body totally impressed me. She looked like a very
hardcore aerobic athlete. Like if she showed up at a race
(with good position on the bike) I'd think "watch her."

Very impressive.

90 minutes is damn slow for that course, but it's faster
than most humans can manage, I guess.

it's still quite respectable for a 90 minute effort for a
recreational rider.

In fact, I'd say it's not just respectable but downright

That ascent is ugly, it's a highway that happens to climb at
8 or 10%. I guess one "has" to do it. If you're ever in the
