  1. Lance Armstrong put such a large American Stamp on the Tour, that the alleged doping by Floyd Landis could be a number of things. It could be that the pressure on him to win after being so close for so long caught up with him, and he took a stupid risk...It could be that the Europeans would do anything to NOT have an American win...or it could be that the drug tests are not really where they should be, and there is alot of "politics" involved IE: Major League Baseball. Regardless, I still love the Tour, and think they just need to fine tune there testing procedures, etc.

Im also a Sports Artist, check out the attached painting I did of Armstrong!

Just because every thread ends up in pro/anti Armstrong bickering doesn't mean this one will. 😄

I'm sure Armstrong's doping along with his training and access to resources was better than his competition...

    Now I'll duck.

Or maybe it will be overlooked, because quite frankly, the poster, with his first post ever, didn't say anything original or anything that hasn't been said in a gazillion threads here. I wonder if the person read anything here before posting.

Maybe they just want to show off the picture, nothing wrong with that, I suppose.

  7. Actually, I just noticed the eBay link. Commercial spam, in the guise of shallow commentary. I should have realized...

I prefered Martin Jackson's take on Armstrong.

    Bring the power like Scotty!

  9. I dont know guys...it is really hard for me these days to put a harsh judgement on any athlete, because there are so many factors involved. I use a baseball reference again...McGwire cheated, Palmero cheated, but who takes all the Steroid heat? Bonds...Why?(thats for a different forum)...My point is that Lance was such a great story for the sport, that it would be "bad business" for the Tour to treat him like they did Landis. I do think that if he would have kept racing and kept winning, eventually they would have found a way to catch him doing something "illegal", whether he did it or not. Its just a huge web of athletes, sponsors, politicians, race officials, that are all trying to get things to go there way. I just dont think Landis is "necessarily" any more or less guilty than Armstrong or any of the other Tour participants.

  10. Gosh - when you put it that way, that's a whole new kettle of fish to shoot in a barrel [/B]
