From what I experienced in racing, the top riders don't take drugs, but the
lesser ones do. If they get caught, it is no big deal.

Uh, does the name "David Millar" come to mind? Or how about Richard
Virenque? If memory serves, neither of these guys - not to mention two-time
Vuelta winner Alex Zulle, who confessed to systematically abusing growth
hormone, etc.- ever tested positive.

For that matter, even then a positive test is usually averted via back-dated
prescription. Anyone remember Laurent Brochard's positive after he won the
Worlds' in '97?

You can't test for anterior pituitary peptides, and they're available in
your local internet muscle building store..
