I've been using L-carnitine combined with fat burner for an year so far. I started taking it for weight lost but now it just gives me stamina and I run better(longer) when I take it.
Do you know any side effect from it ? Maybe it is better to be changed or stopped for a while.
Leafing through rec.running, I read Nikolai's message of 05 Nov 2004:

Have you lost weight? If so, that's probably why you are running better.

Please give advice! 10x
The side effect is a lightening of the wallet. The studies overwhelming show that L carnitine is not effective.
The theory was worth exploring since the role of L carnitine is to transport fat into the mitochondria for oxidation. In theory having more transporters might increase the rate of fat oxidation but it turns out that L carnitine is NOT the limiting factor.

Sam, I resisted the idea at first, but I've now come to realize that Bill is right, you are defeniately an idiot. The truth hurts. Cheers!
