KMC says "no". If you install it as-is, that may be true. I find,
however, that if the two little nubs on the inside of the sideplates
manage to somehow vanish (the action of a file in this area has been

On the KMC Europe site, there are Missing Links listed whose packaging
is clearly labelled "New" and "Reusable", so it is certainly true that
KMC makes a reusable Missing Link, but I have not found that product
line listed as available in the US with that labelling. From the KMC
site in Taiwan, it appears that the designs of the connector links
were revised fairly recently (the part numbers seem to have changed
from what I recall) which may reflect that new tech. Unfortunately,
it looks like the US distributor is sitting on a pile of the older
Missing Links with the problematic nubs that frustrate attempts to
remove the link.

So it looks like this is an Elvish answer.

Are you admitting that, while you had no evidence that KMC Missing
Links were "advertised as removable", you have a very hard time
admitting you were just wrong when you said they were "advertised as
removable"?

This is like the most stupid conversation ever on r.b.t. I'm not sure
why you both insist on quoting everything said before, or is it part of
the act?

I can spoil this by revealing that I have removed the Missing Link on my
KMC X-10 dozens of times. No problems. I can't see how there even
could be a problem, as the link is pretty much identical to the SRAM
PowerLink. It doesn't know how many times it has been removed and
reattached.
