Then get your ears checked. You wont find any of these boxes in any high
end audio stores. They will play loud, and make for good dorm speakers,
but as far as high end sound goes, they are [censored].

  7. They sound great in big, open rooms, but I had them in my bedroom, and they
were overkill. Klipsch do produce the biggest sound I have ever heard from
    a speaker.

That's what they are supposed to do, play loud well like a club
speaker.Has nothing to do with quality of the sound, which is quite
poor, thus why you will never see the brand in a real audio store.

  10. Yes Will, please share.
I too am interested in what an
    audiophile believes. The salesman
was trying to push the Klipsch too
hard which then drove me away.
He assured me that they would "rock
    the house off the foundation."
Uh, not quite what I'm looking for.

  11. There is "high end" and then there is "really high end" with speakers. You
can spend as much money as you want to for small increases in sound quality.
I really cant afford 10,000 dollar speakers. The Klipsch speakers I listened
to sounded damn good. Remember..Ive been listening to Zep on 8 track... 😉
    I'm sure there is better.

    Jim

Plenty of audio shops in Australia carry Klipsch - regarded as an
    excellent
    speaker here

Klipsch also makes several different speakers for the kind of sound you
might be looking for. Brink is right that there are better speakers.
But..Klipsch is a good "mid priced" speaker. There are audiophile forums
where the folks argue as much as MFW.

<heh> I think I might still have "Houses of the Holy" on 8-track, but
I have no idea where it's buried.

Great record.."No Quarter" still gives me goosebumps.
Listened to it today. Interesting trivia..the song. "Houses of the Holy"
    isnt on that record.

Almost anything but Bose to be honest with you. Depends on the price
point and what type of music you listen to most of the time and the room
size you have to deal with. There are just too many great speaker
companies to name. I will say for the $$$, those damn Canadians make the
best low-mid priced speakers going: Paradigm, Energy, and PsB are all
quite good for the price. Me, I have BnW Signature 805's with a Veladine

See my other posts. Most important, what is the budget and what type of
music? All around best speakers for the $$$ are probably Paradigm. They
make speakers in most price ranges up to mid fi prices. See:

True Jim, but Klipsch is a long way from that. For the exact same $$$,
there are far better speakers out there.

If they make you happy, that's all that matters, but when you ask "can
it get any better" then the answer is yes.

But they are all based around the horn tweater, which goes "honk, honk,
honk." Horn tweaters play loud and take alot of abuse, which is why they
are used in night clubs, concerts, etc, but they sound terrible.
