Before I took up running my kids (aged 3, 4, and 6) used to run
everywhere (as kids do) shouting "Last one there's a rotten potato!",
but now they "race" everywhere and I have to give a gold medal to the
winner, and silver and bronze medals to the 2nd and 3rd (a good argument
for not having any more kids). Today they ran ahead of me shouting "Lets
race!" but I said "No racing!" because it was puddly and they were on
the way to school. They didn't slow down so I yelled "I said NO
RACING!", but my eldest shouted back over his shoulder "We're not
racing, we're training!"
