  1. I got what looked like an spam email from "Kelly's
Running Warehouse". I looked at the ad, and it includes
an address of 5549 Copley Drive in San Diego. This address
is the same as that of Road Runner Sports.

Is this a phishing email? Did RRS change their name? Does
RRS have a new division? Anybody know?

  2. Where'd the warehouse to run?

  3. David,

I got this as well. Are you a RRS Club member? I am, and was wondering
whether RRS was starting a new, lower cost alternative to themselves.

RRS is OK if you use a good coupon and get sale stuff, and their return
    policy can't be beat.

This new place has a very limited selection; no returns on used shoes,
and a $10 restocking fee for returns of unused ones.

But I had the same thought you had - looks just like RRS's site; same
    address.

  4. RR folded.

  5. RR went under.

RRS is having trouble and t hat's a typo in the ad...it's supposed to be
    "Kelly's Running Whorehouse"

  7. Kelly's Running Warehouse shares warehouse space with RRS but has no
business connections with RRS. KRW's website is down and that may be the
best that can be said for this company as yahoo stores gives them a one
and a half out of five and dealtime give them three and half with some
seriously suspicious recent "five out of five" to make up for all the
"never do business with them again" posts.

    Of course YMMV

  8. That's right. They share space with RRS. I know because I called RRS
    and asked them.

They claim there's no affiliation between them even though their
websites look the same (especially the checkout page).

I told them about the email, which only went to the email address I
have registered with RRS, and not to the many, many other addresses I
    use.

After I hung up, RRS called me back and asked me to foward the amail to
them because they were concerned that Kelly was somehow accessing RRS's
    customer list.

W/b interesting to know whether those of you who got this email from
Kelly are customers of RRS, especially club members, and if the Kelly
email went to address you gave RRS.

I don't recall getting anything from the fake RRS and I've been a
customer for years. This suggests they don't have the Run America list.
I'm assuming RoadRunner has multiple lists; general, RAC and VIP and if
anything, they got the general. A guess.....

  10. I didn't get an email either, but I called yesterday afternoon, probably
before Brian, just to see what was going on. To put it bluntly, they
were horrified and clueless as to what newgroups are, etc. Assuning
there is nothing neferious between these two, Kathy and RRS, maybe they
take it as a wake up call. I'm not saying that they should participate
here, but if I had a business and I knew people were possibly talking
about me I would at least want to know what they were saying.

    __

they're one company with a second branded slightly different business
model, that's all. take a look at the "affiliate" link of
both....it's identical because it's one company.

  12. This is too bad. Kelly's Running Warehouse has been around for years. I've
bought numerous pairs of New Balance shoes from them, at far below any other
price I could find on the web. I knew exactly what shoe I wanted, and what
size, so I never had to try and return anything. It sounds like they may
    have come upon hard times.

You stupid enough to believe that? Did you think they'd say "yeah, we did it"?

  14. You are quite right, I did a whois on both domains and it turns out that
kelly's is registered to road running sports. Sounds like they have
some explaining to do, of course, as long a RRS continues to do right by
me I really don't care that much about Kelly's but it does give cause
for pause about their underlying honesty.

    I love these places!

  17. The shoes are discounted 25 to 35 percent but they take forever to get
to you. Last November I ordered and it took almost a month to recieve.

    Len

  18. I just ordered from them and got my shoes within a week. I live in VA
so that may be why it got to me so quick(relatively). I was a little
spooked to order from them but I knew the shoe I wanted and I knew the
size. If they did try to shaft me I'd just have the CC company retract
    the pmnt :-)
Don't think I'd order from them if I wasn't too sure of the product.

I didn't believe it until I tried it. I did the whois search and Kellys
really is registered to Road Runner Sports. As sucky as Kelly's is, I
wonder what Road Runner is doing running it...
