this is today. I also cleaned like crazy and decorated for Christmas.
Yesterday I walked 3 miles on the treadmill at Curves and then did the
circuit. Later that night I played 4 long games of VB. It takes us a good 90
min to play 4 games. and that is all we get. Sometimes we have to rally the
last game because our volleys go on for so long. This isn't super LC by any
means, but my goal is to get active enough so that 70 net carbs is "livable"
for me. In the past I have tended to overdue it for quite a long period of
time (1 yr, the cancer diagnosis was like being kicked in the chest by a
horse, otherwise I believe I would have kept it up. )

I have to learn how to be fit and healthy without being too what others in
my home call "selfish". I'm not sure what that means because it would depend
on who's scale you measure it to.
That is my New Year's Resolution just a wee bit early this year.

  2. Just out of curiosity - how's your weight loss going? Most people might think
that your calorie intake is a bit low, but I am not one to say anything because
my knowledge on nutritional front isn't very good. I think 70 g wouldn't get
you in ketosis but you wouldn't be putting on weight either, which is quite
    important as well!!

"Selfish" - in what aspects? About food choice or about the time you spend on
    exercising??

  3. I was wondering about the ultra-low calories too especially since the OP is
so active. I'm surprised she can be that active with so little to fuel her
    body.

I've been keeping my cals between 900-1600 with a weekly average of
    1200/day.
I am going to weigh on Saturdays at work for awhile- S4 flooded the bathroom

and why do you seem to be questioning my honesty? ???????????????

  8. That still seems low to me. I don't workout or get any regular exercise
and lost all the weight I wanted to (23 pounds) eating between 1400 and
    1600 calories/day. I can't imagine doing all that you're doing on so
    little food. :-)

  9. Anyone have some good ideas what to put on sugar free Jell-O. I do a
little whip cream I make myself. And a table spoon of heavy cream. It is
    getting boring.

As a side note. I have finally fell into a good routine. I was having
trouble with the induction and since I was on maintenance for 12 years I
seem to be able to maintain just not lose the added weight. After
failing on induction 3 times I decided to try to modify my maintenance
to an OWL situation. I was 198, and now Im 193 with a goal of 188.
Although it is coming off slowly (3 weeks) it seems to be working.
Has anyone else failed induction and still lost but just on a slower
basis. Also I think maintenance is probably a little more important over
the long haul to get right....
    Your thoughts.....

I think everyone has to play around to find out what works best. If
induction is too strict - why torture yourself? It's better to lose
    slowly than to gain.

No batteries to change but the weight fluctuates quite a lot depending on how

Lori, that's not being selfish. That's looking after yourself so that
you take the stress of THAT off Curt, who doesn't need you to be
running yourself into the ground and visibly grieving every time you
    look at him.

It's keeping yourself strong and centred so that you can be his
support as he takes the next step. So that when the inevitable
happens you can be the rock that holds the family together while you
all cry together and hold on tight to each other and to his memory.

It's giving yourself a kick-start to be able to go on living (as I'm
sure he wants you to), taking the memories of the love you shared into
a bright and happy future where thoughts of him will bring you joy,
    not sorrow.

Keep on being Selfish! It's good not just for you, but for your
    beloved and your family.

    You're welcome, Lori.

If your doctor could say to you "I can offer you a medication that
would mean that for one hour a day you need to be AWAY from your
family and the stresses it places on you, but the other 23 hours of
every day you could be stronger and better able to cope" you'd be
interested, right? You wouldn't consider it 'selfish' to be away for
one hour of the day if it made things easier and better for everyone
    the rest of the time.

Eating the right things, getting some regular exercise, going window
shopping - these are all therapy to help you to be stronger (for
everyone) and cope better with the raw deal you've got. Take the
therapy and use it to improve the things it can. You deserve a little
    time to pamper yourself.

Comeon Lori! Sometimes we can do more, sometimes we can do less. May be
now it's just one of those times when you can do less than what you want.
Being harsh to yourself it's not going to help though. You'll lose it when
you have the energy and time to put your mind to it. Don't think about last
Christmas, what is in the past is gone. It took you a year to put that 16
lbs on, right? Well then it might take you a year to take that off too!
Just don't gain anymore so that your task doesn't get any bigger than it
currently is. You'll be 144 again and you'll be fine.

A few berries are a great addition to SF Jello. Throw in a couple of fresh
strawberries sliced up after it's made or add some frozen berries when you
are making it. Costco has wonderful big bags of Triple Berry
    blend--raspberries, blackberries and blueberries.
