I've never used them, a helmet cover is enough to keep me warm

My mom gave me some Wind Pro "180s" that I've never worn, (I just wear a
balacl.)

Thanks to you I've got them on, with the bike helmet, just to check (thanks
alot! lol). They seem like they'd do the job. Fit under the kind of helment
with the rotary dial to chinch under cranium in back, clearance OK, straps
don't need adjusted under chin, sunglasses not jammed into side of head.

Looks funny, but that could just be me. ;-D

instructions saying that nothing should be worn beneath them...

I got a pair of those clip on earmuffs without a headband. They work find
under a helmet.

Have you tried a thin balaclava without putting it fully over your
head? Instead of putting your head through the neck opening, put your
head through the face opening and let the neck material hang off the
back.

Depends on whether you are wearing a helmet. Fabric with any thickness
can push a helmet up and change the fit.

Is there any way to simply cut the front portion of the head/ear band so
it's thinner above the brow and less intrusive on the glasses? It may
require stitching a small 'hem' to keep it from unraveling, but those
earbands are great....

Last winter my wife gave me a pair of "Ear Pops" and I used them with
very satisfactory results. They fit right over your ear and keep them
snug and warm. Check them out at the following site:

Dayum, I found this out today. I was doing a very early ride at dawn today,
and used the lightwt bala I used on my old helmet. I now have a Trek Vapor,
I think, and it has that wheel and it's perfect.

I snap the strap and adjust the wheel a few clicks..it's less clicks, but
not too snug, though it feels very snug under the chin.

I get into the ride and about 300yds into a rise, I'm feeling funny...

I realize I'm choking myself the fsk out! Brain is pounding...ok, I
exaggerate a little, but instant relief.

So beware the liner, hat, whatever on an already perfect fitted head gear -
before you ride off in it.

slammed that strap open and my blood quit damming up in my head (lol). With
just the upper adjustment. It was just fine...cool to know now I have two
helmet/riding modes, b.c it was frimly enough onmy head where I didn't
"need" a helmet (so to speak). I only use the helmet b/c of the nice visor,
anyway. Plus place to stick my sunglasses.

We use thin stretch fleece headbands. I think we mail-ordered them from
Camp-Mor. They're only around $3 a pop, so we bought a bunch, and nobody in
the family has cold ears or helmet fit problems. Bike clothing
manufacturers like Pearl Izumi make similar winter headbands, but I prefer
the cheap ones.
