I have been right and wrong on this newsgroup over the last few months. I want to clear up
the points.
Firstly, no-one stops to offer help when you've got the back wheel off and are fiddling with the
cassette. Secondly, it doesn't matter how many tools you bring, you never have the one you want.
My new rear cassette broke this evening. Metal fatigue after just 6 weeks. Left stranded at the
furthest point from home with very little money. One few calls later confirmed no-one able to give
me a lift home.
I managed to get going again by taking the smallest cog off and re-screwing in the retainer by hand.
Pretty nervous cycling home, but only came in 2 minutes later than normal. (minus repair time).
Oh well, bike shop tomorrow, probably no receipt, but they do know me. Fingers crossed.
