  1. I think the excesses of christmas are over now. I've been quite good, but gained 2-3 pounds over my
prechristmas weight (back at 210 again). I did manage to keep up the exercise. I overdid the eating
one day by quite a lot but then went on to do a weights session and 45 minutes of cardio to make up.
Did a few more reasonable sessions as well.

Just come from the supermarket. Tesco has all sorts of keep fit equipment at half price. From
dumbells to a powered York treadmill at £430 (which I covet). Theres a nice York weights bench for
£70 which is a bit of a bargain. If you are in the UK and thinking of getting fit now's your chance
to pick up some good stuff cheap.

We had goose for Christmas with roast veges. It's the first goose I've had and it was superb. We'll
    definately be having another soon.

Got 20KG in weights and a new weight bar for christmas (EZ-CURL bar), and a mug for hot chocolate
to even out my karma 🙂 I also got skinfold caplipers and a heart rate monitor, which I'd chosen
ages ago but have been wrapped up and waiting for weeks. The heart rate monitor especially is
    very useful.

good luck to everyone. Hope you all enjoyed Christmas, and are now ready to get back on program.

  2. congrads on doing well over the holdays Ray. I did the same was fairly good
over christmas eve and christmas day and i gained a couple of pounds but i
lost them again after a couple of days being back on track. i also wrote
everything down that i ate to which helped didn't keep track of pointds,
carbs or anything like that but it helped to still write it down.
anyway keep up the good work.

  4. Sounds like you've got quite an arsenal now to attack and track that extra
weight 😉 I've always wanted to get calipers. Let us know how useful you
    find them.

Not really got to grips with them yet. There are loads of skinfold bodyfat calculators on the web
and they all come up with different reading. Anything from 33% to 20%. I also have a electronic
thing that says I'm about 26-27% so I'm looking for a calculator that comes somewhere close to that.
Of course I'm probably doing the measuring wrong, so I'll have to find out about that too I think
26/27 looks about right 'cos 25% is the top end of normal, and i'm still a few pounds over 'normal'
weight. The two should converge at about the same time.

  6. Sounds like you are rarin' to go now, Ray. With all that exercise gear you are going to be
unstoppable!! Gaining 2-3 lbs over Christmas is pretty good and it will be gone in no time!
