Now, how could any of you argue that this is not one hell
of a finely crafted guitar that will sound incredible? I
don't need to make any arguments to convince this fact.
If yu had it in your hands for five seconds, enough time
to play a chord and let it ring, I promise you it would
be sweet.

Living in the hometown of Taylor, I have an
interesting story.
I have a Martin 000-18 from 1960 purchased in downtown
Philly. Living in D.C. from 64 to 68, I was able to
purchase a D-35 at cost from a violin shop as the owner's
daughter was playing in a folkmass group I was leading in
Silver Spring.
When I moved back to SanDiego, Uris down at the Blue Guitar
shaved the struts and lowered the action. Added a Barcus-
Berry pickup. The end is a wonderful sound, and I now only
play it infrequently. Think you've inspired me to get back.
In the early 70's I taught guitar and created a summer
program where I hired several guitar playing friends to
teach grade school kids. The book I created was about 70 pop
songs and folksongs with chords. So at the end of 8 weeks
they could play a number of these songs...and sing along
with their playing.
One of those students was a guy named Michael Gonzales. Fast
forward 25 years. My daughter, Allison, is a 9th grader at a
local private school called Frances Parker. She decides to
take up the guitar and starts in a class. She brings the
book I had put together from the 70's as it had a lot of the
songs they would be playing and there was a nice page of the
chords for each key.
Her teacher saw it in her guitar case, and was blown away
saying: "Where did you get that book? That's the book I
learned to play from when I was a kid. I lost mine and
really missed it. Where'd you get yours? " Ah, my dad made
it us when he used to teach guitar." So Michael Gonzales
path and mine crossed again."
The circle continues: I read your comments about Taylor and
so go to the web page and check out the guitars. As always
curious about price, I go to the price list and check out
the price list. There is a picture at the very top
of....Michael Gonzales....at least I think it's Michael. So
I go downstairs to get the Parker Spring magazine.
Just about an hour ago I was cleaning the mail and putting
it in various piles for my wife or my two daughters who now
live away. One is the Parker-Spring magazine. I thumb
through it and see a picture of the teachers who received
grants and various scholarships to do what they wanted to
do. I saw the picture of Michael but didn't ready any of the
text around the picture.
So I go get the magazine to see that I've spelled Michael's
name correctly. Then I read the comments around his picture:

At last year's Upper School Awards Ceremony, I was
absolutely thrilled to receive the Mulliken endowment
for Excellence in teaching. It was truly an honor to be
recognized by my peers. The major purchase that I made
toward my professional growth was a new guitar, a
Taylor 714CD.
It's one of the most beautiful guitars I've ever played in
both appearance and tone. I bought the guitar at the b
eginning of last summer and I've already done over 100 gigs
with the insturment. Another nice surprise occured after I
acquired the guitar. Seventh grader Kira Mires approached
during the middle of the first semester and asked if I
played Taylor guitars and If I'd be interested in being
photographed for the upcoming Taylor Catalog. Her father
Scott is principal at Mires Design for Brands and is in
charge of the project. Photographers from Harrington Studios
came to the school before Thanksgiving break and took
several photos. Many of those pictures included Parker
students and I'm happy to report that several of our photos
made the final edit.

My running seriously started in 1974. During that time I
played with my brother for 2 years on Friday and Saturday
nights at a place called the Ivy Barn here in San Diego.

Thursday night, April 15th is the anniversary of several
things including taxes. Stars On The Water will be at Desi
and Friends for the San Diego Parrot Head Club election
night. We start around 7pm or whenever the voting is over.
Thursday and Friday nights, Stars On The Water will be in
Cedar Rapids Iowa for the Isle of Iowa Parrot Head Clubs 6th
Island Phever Phlocking. Hopefully, Iowa will never be the
same after we've been there.

Anyway, I thank you for the off topic response and the
journey down memory lane of my music days and the beginning
of my running days/daze. I see why you LOVE the PS 15. When
