That dude's not suited to the Tour like he is the Giro - he'd have a
lot of problems in the flat stages, the longish TT's wouldn't be good
for him, and the climbs, while long, don't have the same gradient.

His team would be a good choice for a Veulta wild card. You can be
certain they will be back at the Giro next year.

Selle Italia-Colombia has just applied for a ProTour spot for next year.

How likely are they to get it? Fassa Bortolo is re-applying. AG2R is
applying. Either of those would be likely to get the nod over any other
team. When the majority of the licenses expire in 4 years, though,
Rujano will be entering the prime of his life. If the team really wants
to be in the Pro Tour, it will be, it's just a matter of time.

It's kind of unfortunate that Selle italia is never in the tour.
They've produced some great climbers in recent years who could have
given lance a run for his money!
