Managed to get some proper internet access yesterday so caught up on replies.

I've also applied some *basic* formatting to my journal, although my skill doesn't extend much beyond <P> <B> and <I>
Paving slabs are always appreciated, Helen, in fact there was a pile of them on Rannoch Moor. Have you been there recently?

Under 30 miles a day? You must be stopping for tea every two miles!
I've got to fulfil a longstanding pledge to cycle from Swindon to Bedford (home of the in-laws) on Tuesday. The AA website says it's about 90 miles but I reckon I can shave off 5 miles or so by following the most direct route using back roads. Unfortunately both Oxford and Milton Keynes are in the way.
I get a lift back in the car, since the family are visiting them anyway :-)
