    Well Mr. JD you ARE indeed correct about Trek Fool 90's
    durability - mine cracked, and I'm not a terribly aggressive rider.

    Of course this conversely proves you wrong that in saying that
    folks with Trek bikes just store them in their sheds. I rode mine
    a LOT, that's why it cracked. (Good bikes shouldn't you say?
    see previous paragraph 🙂

    On the positive note, I rode my SS while I waited for a warranty
    frame, which took 4 weeks. Also, since no more '05s were
    available, and I would have had to wait for '06s, I opted to upgrade
    to a full carbon frame for $100 charge. I rode the new bike
    yesterday and it was night and day compared to my alu. frame.
    Yes it's still a Trek but I have a wife and 3 kids to feed so I'll
    stick with it for now.

    Yes I take the good with the bad, and just keep riding..

    Then again, a new frame every year wouldn't be bad if you can get it
    "hassle" free ....Hmmmmm..... pity about the down time though. Maybe

    I took advantage of the "down time" and rode my SS (and my roadie).
    So there was NO down time for me.

    Down time thats when a spare bike comes in handy while
    waiting on a replacement frame.

    Roadie thats a bore till you have to fight to stay
    alive from the monster cages on the road. I guess that goes even for
    Wake County in the Tar Heel State.

    NC rednecks can be very ill-mannered towards cyclists. Then again,
    psycho SoCal immigrants are probably much worse and definitely more
    numerous. Some middle-eastern dunderhead almost killed me on my
    motorcycle yesterday and then had the nerve to yell at me at the next
    intersection. I stuck my tongue out at him and the look on his face
    was priceless.

    You must have me confused with another "JD". I've always stated that
    most Treks end up as a car chamois drying rack in some poor bastich's
    garage after they found out that mountain biking is more work than
    being stylish is worth. I rode both of mine a lot and broke them a lot
    as well.
