They used to run on PBS, around here - maybe contact your state's PBS
station(s) and see if they have any plans to rerun them - I didn't like
the ones with Claudine, myself - too - I don't know, - fakey, I guess.

Same here about the ones with Claudine -- when I see the cookbook with
Claudine at the library, I don't even leaf thru it -- perhaps I should. I
saw her once on a show with Mario sitting in the guest seat - did anyone
else see this? I oft wonder where he gets his guests.

Interesting you bring this up. While transferring old tapes to dvd, I
ran across an old PBS marathon of his shows, along with a couple of
him with Julia Child. I had forgotten just how enjoyable his shows
were. It's been a very long time since I've seen any of them on the
air - and yes, the ones with Claudia were terrible - she's not in the
ones I have.

I didn't like the original ones, because she couldn't have been that
much of a novice in the kitchen. But after a while they allowed her
act less dumb and ask better questions, so the shows set better with
me. I think I read somewhere that she's a very good cook, which she
should be, considering who her father is.

or packages.

Claudine got married in 2003. She and husband moved to, of all places,
Portland, OR where they worked initially at at place called Ken's
Artisan
Bakery. He eventually got a job as the executive chef at a restaurant
called Rivers. I believe she also took a job there, but I don't know if
that's a real working job or a pr gimmick, or maybe both. As far as I
know, they are both still there. The restaurant tried to stir up some
buzz over Claudine's and husband's ties to the old man, but it never
seemed to catch on. The general sense in Portland is that Rivers is
just okay food with a nice view of the
river (Willamette, not the Columbia).

When I stop in Madison, CT at a coffee shop I always wonder if I will see
Jacques, but I wouldn't think he'd be mixing with the tourists, although it
does seem that some locals come downtown. As far as I know, doesn't he
still live in Madison?

There's no price, Brad. I am in the middle of transferring several
dozen family videos for my niece, which will probably take a few weeks
at the rate I'm going. I have to tell you though, that the DVD's I
create work on 4 of the 5 DVD players we have. So there's a chance
you might not be able to use it. Although, I know that a particular
Magnavox model from WalMart does work, and it's only 40 bucks. If
your player was purchased in the last couple of years, chances are it
will be fine. It needs to play DVD+R, but the particular version of
this format that I create has another extension added to it - can't
remember what it is right now. I will contact you by email, and then
I can keep you updated on when I'll be able to get to it. The one
player of ours that doesn't work will play DVD+RW's that I create, but
not the +R's - weird.

at the time) down in Santa Barbara - so don't give up hope, you may
spot him yet.

As far as I know, he lives in Madison, CT, although I don't really
follow
his whereabouts with high interest. I saw him walking alone down the
sidewalk
in Portland, OR within - I think - the last year. He apparently had
just finished an interview at The Oregonian (newspaper),

recall seeing only a couple of them. Those I saw were great examples
of quick applications of a lot of knowledge. -aem
