Hey all,
The symptoms:
I start running, and after anywhere from 2-10 minutes I get this pain
in the side of my left knee. This pain isnt a constant pain, and
occurs only when I lift my leg back up in the stride. The pain is
intense enough that I cant continue.
Some history:
I started running some 3 years ago, and used to run fine without any
problems. However in the middle of last year I started getting this
knee pain.
I stopped running since I moved, and was in transition for quite a
while. I thought the rest would help, however it hasnt.
Based on the symptoms it looks like ITBF. I have tried stretching
before running, but it hasnt helped. I also tried getting inserts for
my running shoes to see if it stabilizes my gait, but that didnt help
either.
What do you suggest I do? Any experiences? Should I go to a doctor and
then physical therapy? Would any strength training help/exacerbate
this?
I really want to start running again, but am hampered by this.
Thanks!
Sumedh.
