that get the attentions of inconsiderate motorists going too fast along
narrow, winding country lanes. Seems horses are fair game too..
Of course, if this carries on it won't be too long before a motorist gets
half-a-tonne of equine steak through his/her windscreen... which will have a
slowing down effect, as well as a possible immediate shortening of life for
man/woman and beast alike 🙁
""The ILPH implores motorists to think horse when driving on country roads.
It is common sense not to go round a blind corner too quickly as you don't
know what is around the other side. If you do see horses please slow down
and give them a wide berth," he said.
Martin Barsby, spokesman for Norfolk County Council, said officials could
only reduce country lane speed limits if there was a supporting accident
record, but extra horse and rider signs would be provided for Carr Lane.
"Carr Lane is similar to many other roads in this rural county. The onus
here is on the driver and we would expect drivers to keep their speed
relative to the road and conditions," he said."
