After this a.m.'s ride, I'm almost thinking about it. I followed a
friend down Hulls Gulch pretty fast, and he was really railing the
rocks, with his Bomber behaving like a champ. He's got a cheaper bike,
but a great front fork. He handled the gnarly stuff at speed better
than me. I'll work on adjustments fr & rr first to see if I can find a
good set up that works better for me. I can't stand to buy new when the
old ain't broke yet.

This replaced the Id which is now in New Zealand. I still have the
Racer-X. This is just a 5" to replace a 5". I rode it this morning and
all I can say is wow! The center of gravity is right under my chin!
For the first time in my life I was able to ride a wheelie without going
ass over head. What a fantastic fit. The Id was a bit big for me as the
Ellsworthless 15" actually runs larger than that.

For Paladin: I run a Minute 2:00 on the Racer-X and it just feels great
so I figured I would try the 3:00 on the 5" bike. The price is $400
less than the Fox 36 and I think the SPV runs identically to the
Terralogic. I run qr's and I didn't need the expense of having to buy a
new CK 20mm hub up front. With my weight and lack of anything over a 2'
drop, I don't think I need the 20mm.

You know you can add and extension to the rear to make that bike a 5" travel
don't you? Thus the name...Switchblade.

Yeah, supposedly it's set up right now for 5.7" rear, and 5" front.
I've gotta get it over to a better shop and have them check the install
on my Talas shock, I think it's mounted wrong, and I'm losing about an
inch of rr travel. So much to tinker with...

I got my frame from Dreamride, but it's not a custom job like JD's. I
know people either have a love him or hate him approach to Lee, but I
found him to be very knowledgeable and helpful. It was a good purchase
experience and there was no great price difference on a frame between
Dreamride and other retailers. In fact, I think it was a good deal
since I got a free CK headset and free shipping. I know his full builds
can be pretty pricey though.

FWIW, I recall the clearance on the L and XL being even greater than on
the small.

Yup, X-5. But you can get 6" rockers for it. I also saw an El Salti
done in an X-5 jig, if you want a lighter long travel rig. It's custom
though.

My boat weighs in at 28 pounds and a few ounces. I think that's pretty
respectable given the tubing on that thing and as long as I can lift it,
I'm happy.
