The expressive continental hand-flick: contemptuous, brush-off, go &*%$ your mother, it means all those things. No fingers pointed, nothing expressed directly. You have to practise lots, and ride with Italians to get it right. You can swear in a foreign language at them as well, if it helps.
M "EH!" H
You can add to this gesture if time and balance permit;
First bounce the back of your hand against your upper thigh/groin. Then sweep your arm into the above hand flick. (Sexual threat of sorts) I think it’s an invitation of sorts?
I thought that was going to be "first, bounce your bike onto their bonnet.." 🙂

hippy
I bought an MTB magazine on Saturday which came with a free Red Bull DVD. I want to be able to ride like that. Ha, infidel - I jump my bike onto your filthy stinking motor car. Now, I bounce my bike on the roof of your car.

Is teatowel round head obligatory or optional at this juncture? What about the Al Quaeda Bicycle Terrorist Brigade influence upon the production of said video, and its downright anti-American, anti-capitalist, anti-motorist slant?

Really? Is it a full-length Red Bull Ride/Rampage DVD? Which mag?

Can we have a massive, out-of-control debate now on the merits of riding with or without a teatowel on our heads?
I heard that statistics don't show teatowels to be as effective at preventing head injuries as the authorities would have us believe..

When the bottom bracket of my cf frame cracked terminally (as they are wont to do after a lot of km with a SOFB* riding them) I called on the Australian distributor of the brand to honour their lifetime frame guarantee and produce a replacement frame - wouldn't want to mention the brand name but its starts with a T ends in a K and comes with a goddam yankee flag and many other decals on it.
Which the distributor took 3 months and threats of Trade Practices etc etc to honour - one of the best excuses I got for the delay was that their shipments of bike frames were being delayed by additional security required after September 11 - suggestion was that bike frames could be used against Gods own country in the war on terror !!! Not seen many suicide bombers, as such, in Centennial Park but you just never know do you...
So when replacement frame arrived I took to said decals with Mrs Price's hairdryer and they came off quicker than jack flash (discovered also that my little act of revenge requires a spray of clear coat but what the heck I was making a point)
Love the bike, but could do without the attitude and the bs excuses.

hippy
Its at home and I'm at work but my best recollection is that its an re-edited version of the Red Bull Freight Train DVD: 30 minute DVD, 4 riders and mechanic in a bus, going from Perth to Adelaide, stopping at different places to show off riding skills, using trail bike to tow rider on pushie up to 70kph (?) before hitting jump ramp, riding on Wave Rock at Haydn and more speccy stuff
Australian Mountain Bike mag - came in plastic bag which contained mag, latest Dirt Works catalogue of MTB bike bits and the DVD (in a proper DVD case)
